How Long Does Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Nail Polish Take To Dry

I'm going to start this post off past saying that I'thou a huge Sally Hansen nail smooth fan. That'south of import to get out upwardly front since, obviously, the title of this post might imply otherwise. And, I'll signal out that the use of "My" in the title was, most certainly, intentional.

Of all the affordable blast shine options I've tried, Sally Hansen is past far the all-time when it comes to lasting, chip-gratuitous color.

My become-tos are Insta-Dri®, Consummate Salon Manicure™, and Hard every bit Nails Xtreme Wear® considering they're inexpensive (betwixt $4 and $eight a bottle at the local CVS), and because they stand up up to a few days' article of clothing before things beginning going downhill.

If y'all couldn't guess, I'grand kind of a serial typist, clickity-clacking for at least 12 or thirteen hours a solar day between my regular job, and all my freelance/blog writing.

Boom smoothen doesn't like extreme typing. Not even a footling.

Or, perhaps it'south just me.

My Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Polish Fail!

I keep my nails short. A "sporty" length equally some telephone call it. Anything besides far beyond my finger-tip and I start to twitch every bit the letters tic-tic-tic when I type. The only fashion I tin can describe it is like a claustrophobic feeling that makes me squirmy—I get that mode when I've worn a hat (especially one with a pecker) for too long, too. Two cheers for idiosyncrasies!

Not sure if it'due south that sporty length (I'd imagine having longer nails would encourage this, too), but after a day or two, the very peak edge of paint on my index and middle finger nails starts wearing abroad. Presently subsequently, it's my correct thumb who (because of some sort of learning-to-type snafu) does all the space bar work for all the words. Clickity-click-click

The left thumb, information technology just gets to hang out and sentry. And, as a result, stays beautifully, unchippedly, polished for twice every bit long every bit the rest of my actively typing fingernails.

And notwithstanding, I take plenty of friends who type but every bit much as I practise, and manage to keep their gel polished finger nails fleck gratuitous for a week, or fifty-fifty longer. So, I've been wondering if that's the ticket: GEL Polish.

Used to exist you had to visit a salon for gel manicure, and—quite bluntly—I don't have the time or the money to be doing that on the regular. Sometime within the by five years DIY gel polish systems popped up, consummate with the lamp and other accessories you need to create the same gel manicured process at home. Nope. Nope. Nope. That's way too much piece of work.

And THEN, Emerge Hansen came upwards with the magical idea of gel shine that doesn't require annihilation fancy to piece of work, aside from a peculiarly formulated polish and a specific "must utilise" superlative coat.

At $9.99 a bottle, Sally Hansen Miracle Gel™ is a scrap more than expensive than my usual Emerge Hansen fare, but it'due south likewise a heck of a lot less expensive than visiting a salon every other calendar week, specially when the canteen touts, "Upwards to xiv Days of Color & Shine!!!!!" and it lasts for lots and lots of applications.

Okay, it doesn't really have all (or whatever) of the exclamation points, but that's how my mind read information technology. The thought of polish lasting even a week and looking fabulous is extraordinary.

So, I invested $xx in "Slate-r Girl" and the special meridian coat and prepared myself to be awed past the staying power of my new gel nail shine friends.

Beginning, I watched a video (considering I'm kind of geeky and I wanted to make sure I did information technology correct).

Seems simple enough. Clean nails, two coats polish (dry five minutes between each), one coat top coat, permit it dry for fifteen minutes "earlier digging around in your purse," and and so done.

That'due south my kind of manicure.

And for the get-go 2 days, my "Slate-r Girl" nails looked fab.

Information technology was mean solar day iii when I noticed my usual index finger vesture and tear. And by 24-hour interval 4 things started to go downhill quickly.

Day five? Allow's just say I put the "Removes like regular nail shine" statement to the test. And it works, the regular non-acetone nail polish remover I use for everything else.

My Sally Hansen Miracle Gel polish fail!

I shared my hopeless gel polish story with some girlfriends.

It appears they don't encounter the same pathetic showing that I exercise. Their Emerge Hansen Phenomenon Gel polished nails (in "All Chalked Up" and "Smartease") expect unblemished at 24-hour interval five.

YOU GUYS. IT'S CLEARLY Merely ME.

I feel like the "nailed it" poster child for Sally Hansen Miracle Gel polish, instead of Pinterest.

I've reverted dorsum to my Insta-Dri "Cocoa A Become Become" with an Xtreme Wear "Disco Ball" glitter top coat because that combo seems to harden well enough that chips are thwarted AND because when it does chip, the glitter seems to do a nice job of hiding information technology. Touch ups, for when it'southward not so camouflaged, are pretty simple when shimmer's involved.

Just seriously, I decline to give up on the Emerge Hansen Miracle Gel smoothen when it seems to work brilliantly for every other fingernail on the planet.

A girlfriend helped out with a few tips:

Swipe your nails with vinegar first to remove oils, and then try using a base. Soak your nails in ice water when you're done.

So I'grand gonna try those tips, along with a double top coat, I remember.

Simply, what say you? Have you tried gel polish at domicile, and was it a long-lasting success?!?
